Food stamps/SNAP recipients can now shop for groceries online on Amazon. This means that they can easily pay with SNAP EBT on Amazon. Provided you have an EBT card, it’s now easy for you to purchase groceries from Amazon Fresh, Amazon Pantry, and Amazon Grocery, pay with SNAP, and have then delivered to your door step.
For quite a long time, food stamps recipients were not allowed to make purchases online with their food stamps. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic the USDA has expanded an online purchasing pilot to include most states. So therefore, you are now allowed to use your SNAP EBT card to shop online with select merchants, of which include Amazon and Walmart.
The online EBT program was first launch in New York, in the year 2019. As of April 2020, many states including Maryland and New Jersey have implemented their online EBT programs. This pilot program will to allow SNAP recipients in the approved states to shop online with their EBT cards for delivery or pickup.
For such reason, this post will provide a full detail of how you can successfully add your SNAP EBT card to your Amazon account and shop online.
