Residents of Central Florida whose property were damage due to Hurricane Irma can now apply for FEMA disaster assistance relief program.
Furthermore, there are two ways in which you can apply for the program. You can either apply through phone by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or online by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov.
How To Apply For FEMA Disaster Assistance Via www.disasterassistance.gov
Before you proceed to file for assistance, you need the following to apply for assistance:
- Social Security number
- Telephone number
- Mailing address
- Private insurance information
- Bank account information for direct deposit
- Paperwork related to damaged property (photos, receipts, etc.)
Once you have the above requirements ready with you, you can proceed to www.disasterassistance.gov and click on Disaster Resources.
Ensure you fill out all the forms correctly in order to not slow down the process time.

NOTE: Once you file for assistance, FEMA only has 10 days to respond and if you are approved, you be able to receive assistance within 2 to 3 days.
